OK, So I am finally getting around to moving our addresses over from our old blog on spaces. Sorry it took so long. We welcome any mail, email, or phone calls. And I know that Dina would love to hear from everyone too. Again, sorry it took so long. There are lots of pictures and stuff on the old blog, and it's still up, but I can't log into it anymore. But feel free to have a look.

Jasons Fat Face

No! I'm not being rude or mean about my husband. A couple days before Thanksgiving Jason started to complain about a slight tooth ache. I ran him through the normal battery of tests that I use to determine whether or not I have an abscess. He didn't seem to. Then on Thanksgiving, sometime around dinner time, he noticed some swelling just to the right of his nose, above the tooth that has been bothering him. He went and took his "after Thanksgiving dinner nap" and when we woke up, the whole right side of his face was swelled up. He tried to contact his pcp (primary care physician), and found out what a crappy Dr he has been seeing. His Dr is not on call, and does not accept after hour emergencies at all. So Jason went to the ER expecting them to tell him it was his tooth and give him enough antibiotics to get him through the long weekend until he could find a dentist. The ER ordered a CT of his head, and found it was not his tooth, but his sinuses. They gave him IV antibiotics, and sent him home with 3 Rx's to last him 7-10 days each. The swelling started going down noticeably on Sunday, Finally! But Jason called in sick to work Sunday night for Monday to give himself an extra day for more swelling to go down. Monday morning he gets a call from work that he has to come in because everyone else in the office called in sick too. What a load of crap, I know. We were both a little miffed about it. The soft puffy swelling has turned into hard abscesses (in his gums and sinuses) that are not so protruding, yet still a little noticeable (and feelable). I believe from the call that Art got from Jason today, that Jason has an appointment with a new Dr this evening to hopefully follow up and get more answers, although I am sure we will be left with more questions. We wanted to get a picture, but were unable to find our camera while he was really swollen. Now a picture won't do him any justice. We will see what tonight's appt brings us. I am hopeful ;)

Jessica's Birthday

Ok, So here are some pictures and some videos of Jessica's 10th Birthday. She had so much fun. The Tae Kwon Do Demo team she is on performed at the party, and it was awesome. We all need to thank Papa Dave for the pictures and videos, because I was slightly overwhelmed and running around like a chicken with no head, and Jason was helping out and keeping the kids busy, and Papa Dave was snapping pictures left and right.

The day started out with TKD classes for Jason and Jessica, followed by Jessica's Demo Team practice, and then Jason and Jessica both tested for their yellow belts and PASSED!!! Finally it was time for the party to start. So here is how it went...

It started out with a game of Jessica Says ...

Followed by a game of "Jump the Targets"...
(Look at Jessica's form on that jump!)...

Then came TKD Limbo... (Is it just me, or is Jessica looking a little lost here?)

Then it was time for her and the Black Belt World Demo Team to perform. Papa Dave was really looking forward to this one...(They all waited so patiently for her to come out of the restroom...She Was Changing...Sickos!!!)
I haven't been able to add the video of the demo yet, but I will keep working on it. Hopefully it will show up here soon, or at least a link to it.

Then she got to cut the cake...WITH A SWORD!!! My nickname for her is Ipo (pronounced eee Po like the kung foo panda, Not eye poo, like Pops thinks.) It means sweetheart in Hawaiian. (We later found out from Nana that it means hiccup in Spanish). So anyways, we found candles that spell out Jessica, so we had them put Ipo on the cake.

Busy Lives

I have come to realize that no matter how busy our lives get, we still have the same amount (or lack of) energy to make it through each day.

Life pushes forward with Jason and Jessica in Tae Kwon Do, and hopefully, when I can arrange my schedule, I will be joining them. Starting this weekend, we will have a very busy week up through Thanksgiving. Honestly...I am kind of looking forward to it. Papa Dave is coming into town for Jessica's birthday and will be here for a week. Jessica is excited to see him again after so long. Her 10th birthday party is Saturday where her TKD Demo Team will perform for her party guests, and she is working on a demo of her own. Monday is her birthday. I can't believe she is going to be 10. Where has the time gone? Where has my little girl gone? She is growing up so fast. Thanksgiving will be great. We will be turkey frying again this year...I love that turkey fryer we got for Christmas years ago. We will work on taking lots of pictures and hopefully have more posted soon.

Until Next Time.
Love Y'all!!

TKD and More

These are of Jessica competing at the Black Belt World - In House Festival where she took home a trophy for completing a 21 day reading challenge and a Blue ribbon for an "Outstanding Performance" and Jason took home a Red Ribbon for a "Superior Performance". That gentleman sitting on the chair in the corner by the counter is Grand Master Lee. He is the President and Founder of Black Belt World, the TKD school that they attend. It was a great honor and privilege for us to meet him.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I have updated, so here it is.

Jessica and Jason are both in Tae Kwon Do, and they are both high white belts now. They have signed up for the Instructors program which is 4 years long, and by the end of it, they should both be 2nd degree black belts, and be able to teach Tae Kwon Do. Jessica attends TKD 5 or 6 days a week, and now will attend 2 classes instead of 1 on Mondays, and Jason attends 2-4 days a week. They enjoy it a lot. Jason received another raise at work a couple weeks back. It was a very welcomed surprise. Jason is still enjoying his job. I have finally found another neurologist here in the area, and will be seeing him for the first time on Halloween. We will see how it goes. Life here at the house is hectic and crazy as usual. We have been sharing a car and a scooter between Jason, myself and Pops (Art), so I still spend quite a bit of my time during the day driving around. Hopefully things will start to slow down soon, and we can all start to feel normal again. Oh yeah...Alyssa will be moving up here probably sometime in November, at least that's the plan for now. We will see.
Jessica's birth father, Papa Dave, has been working very hard to make regular phone calls to Jessica and to try and build a relationship with her. Many people have asked me why I allow it, but to me it is pretty simple. Jessica had a right know where she came from, and I have never spoken negatively about him to her, so why wouldn't she want to know him? He is making a trip out here for her birthday this year, and she is very excited. Jason and I want her to be happy. She enjoys their time on the phone together and I think it's going to be good for her. Jessica is doing good in school, her 5th grade teacher (I know...I can't believe she's in 5th grade either) told us that he is going to have a hard time challenging her this year. She was tested for GATE, but I'm not sure what came of it yet. Whether or not she is accepted into GATE, her teacher will be requesting help from the GATE teacher to challenge her and keep her out of trouble. He said that she may come across as a problem student, but she is not, she just isn't being challenged.
For those who don't know, we always have a hard time getting our tax return. This year has been even worse. To make a long story short, they have completely lost our tax return. So for the 4th time this year, we are having to send it in again. I am so glad that mom taught me to hang on to my legal and tax papers. It will come, but who knows when. We are keeping a positive outlook on it though...We have money coming, and when it does, BOY WILL BE SURPRISED:)
I am ready for a vacation, time away from everyone and all of the stresses in my life right now. Maybe for Christmas I will get a weekend away. Other than that I am hanging in there.
That's it for now
Love Y'all

Family Update

We are here in Las Vegas, NV where the weather is extremely HOT and the nights are not nearly long enough. Latrisa's mom was able to help her in the move, in fact she drove the whole way down in the moving truck... A HUGE HELP for Latrisa. Jason was happy that Latrisa and Jessica didn't have to make the trip alone. We are slowly finding our place here and settling in. Jason is really enjoying his job and likes the DR that he works for, who is just like Jason and only months different in age. He is still trying to narrow down his choices for school, but we aren't in a huge hurry, because we need to live here for a full year before we can pay in-state tuition. That will save us almost $10,000.00 a year. Latrisa is staying home with Jessica for now, but is planning to go back to work soon. Self employment oportunities are very limited compared to Idaho, so until she can find one that suits her the way small animal breeding did, she will plan to work out of the house while Jessica is in school. Jessica is on waiting lists for 3 or 4 different magnet schools in the area. One of the magnet schools we have friends going to, so it would be great if we could get her in. We will see how it goes. Jessica is also swimming also everyday in the pool that is conveniently located in our backyard. What a blessing that has become. We have been able to spend some good quality time with Art and Deb, Briauna, Jenni and Adam, and to even catch up with some friends that we lost touch with. It has been a great experience to be back here so far. Las Vegas has changed so much in the years we were gone. We are amazed at the amount of change that can occur over such a short amount of time. I think that is all for now. We will write more when we have more to write about.
